Employee Retention Tax Credits
For Other Payroll Service Bureaus
If you have clients that are eligible for Employee Retention Tax Credits (ERTC), then we can help. With our ERTC Service, we take on the burden of performing all of the analysis around PPP Loans, FFCRA paid, etc and calculate credits on eligible wages for each quarter. When you use our service, we work Behind The Curtain so it appears as though your team did all of the work.
How We Do It
- We log into your payroll environment to work on your clients' live data.
- We use our tools to extract and calculate eligible wages by employee by quarter
- We post the calculated credits into payrolls for each eligible quarter
- We produce a 941X for each eligible quarter
- We provide a Summary of eligible wages and credits for each eligible quarter
- We provide a Detail of eligible wages and credits by employee for each eligible quarter
How The Others Do It
- You export data from your system
- You send the data to one of those other services
- The other service does the calculations and sends them back to you
- You upload or manually enter those credits into your payroll environment for each eligible quarter
- You produce a 941X for each eligible quarter
For Individual Employers
If you are an employer who is eligible for Employee Retention Tax Credits (ERTC) and your payroll provider does not offer ERTC Services (or you don't trust them enough to do it correctly), then you can count on us. We will calculate all of the eligible credits for each employee in each eligible quarter, and provide you with the information your current payroll provider needs to post the credits into their payroll system. If your payroll provider cannot (or will not) post past credit calculations, or you don't have a current payroll provider, then we can even produce the 941X for each quarter for you! Best part for you... our fees are about one-third of the national Tax Credit Agencies.

Why Us
Behind The Curtain Consulting LLC's owner has spent the past 20+ years running a successful and well respected Payroll/HCM provider, and continues to do so. While we may not have all of the answers, we have the resources to find solutions to any challenge you may face running your own Payroll Service Bureau.
Evolution Report Writing
Creating custom reports within Evolution is one of our specialties. The Report Writer engine in Evolution is extremely powerful, but can also be very difficult to master. If you have a need for a custom report/export for a client or reporting across multiple clients, the data is available in the Evolution Report Writer. Whether it is an export for 401(k), or multi-client wage report, or any other report, we can build it for you.
Training (coming soon)
Depending on your payroll platform, we can provide trainings for your employees and even your clients. Most small to mid-sized payroll providers don't have the resources to effectively train new Payroll Specialists, so that's where we come in. We will tailor a training program for your new Payroll Specialist over several sessions to get them up to speed as quickly as possible. We can even train your clients...and of course, we would act as a member of your team. Our goal is for your client never to know we exist... because we are Behind The Curtain Consulting LLC.

Especially useful for a new payroll provider, we can assist you with establishing best practices for running your business successfully. New payroll providers quickly realize that there is much more to this business than meets the eye, and can become overwhelmed with the day to day demands. Without proper procedures, checks and balances, and efficient processes, your clients and bottom line suffer. We can help you establish those processes and procedures to run your payroll company more productively and efficiently.
On Demand Payroll Specialists (coming soon)
We are working on a plan to provide temporary Payroll Specialists. With Paid Leave laws becoming more and more widespread across the country, we feel there is going to be an new demand for on-call Payroll Specialists. For payroll providers with only a few Payroll Specialists, when one of them is out on leave it puts a heavy burden on the rest of your team. Our goal is to provide a remote Payroll Specialist to handle some of the load of payroll entry and even client support... and of course, we would do so without your clients knowing you hired an outside service... because we are Behind The Curtain Consulting LLC.
